The turbocharger must be fitted to an engine that is in good working order so that the operation of the turbocharger is not prejudiced. Proof, in the form of receipts, is required verifying that turbocharger has been replaced by qualified mechanic. The engine oil, oil filter and air filter must be changed at the point of turbocharger fitment and after every 7500 miles or if semi-synthetic or mineral oil is used 5500 miles, or once per calendar year, whichever comes first. Only components and materials approved by the vehicle manufacturers must be used. Proof, in the form of receipts, is required verifying that routine servicing has been carried out as per recommendations since the turbocharger was fitted. Special emphasis is placed upon oil change intervals, oil filter replacement and engine oil quality. Primary cause of turbocharger failure has not been eliminated. Turbocharger is not correct for the application. Turbocharger is not fitted in line with engine manufacturers recommendations. Oil flow was interrupted (inlet or outlet).There is any leak in suction system. Silicone was used to seal oil pipes. There is incorrect pressure at blow-through in piston system.
There is too high temperature of exhaust fumes. There is any mechanical damage to the turbocharger components. There is incorrect pressure in the filter. There is any obstruction of the evaporative system. Under no circumstances should a vehicle be used if a turbocharger problem is suspected as this could cause further damage to the turbocharger and/or engine.Unit must be present for the test and report. Unit has been installed incorrectly. Unit is found to be contaminated with additives, dirt, water, or wrong fuel. Car fault has been mis-diagnosed.
Unit has been found dismantled, or adjusted in any way. Metal particles from faulty fuel pump are found in injectors. Ensure that any fault that caused the previous turbocharger to fail has been rectified. To prevent contamination of the replacement turbo, the oil feed pipe & banjo bolts MUST be replaced, irrespective of condition.Renew the oil filter and engine oil. Inspect the turbocharger oil drain pipe for kinks or carbon blockage. If in doubt, replace the pipe. Remove all crankcase breather hoses and filters. Check and clean all inlet and outlet hoses.
Using a clean container to catch the oil, crank the engine over until at least ½ pint (300 ml) of oil is pumped out of the turbo oil feed pipe. This ensures any dirt or carbon particles are flushed out, which otherwise may damage the turbocharger's bearings.Unscrew the oil sump, and check the flow in the oil strainer if needed to change it. FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE TO INSTALL YOUR NEW TURBO. Ensure cleanliness whilst fitting this turbo. Do NOT remove the oil feed blanking plug until ready. Do not use exhaust sealing paste or silicon.
Connect the oil feed pipe (after completing point 6 above). Do not allow dirt to enter the turbocharger bearing housing. Before fitting the oil drain pipe, ensure that the blanking plug is removed (where fitted) and crank the engine until engine oil flows out of the turbocharger bearing housing.
Re-fit the oil drain pipe. Before starting the engine, fill the oil chamber with turbo engine oil, ensuring that the turbine bearing lubrication is maintained during initial start-up.Check all connections are tight, but do not over-tighten. Start the engine and check for leaks. Please make sure that the fuel system has been completely reset prior to injector fitting. Before installing new units, make sure that the primary fault is found and repaired. Make sure that the part number on the remanufactured unit is the same as the part number on the removed unit.
If the numbers don't match, please check if it isn't a direct replacement. If not sure, please contact Turbo Speed. Units can be wet due to the test fluid used.This is not a cause for concern. In most cases, it states that all high-pressure pipes, seals, and fittings are replaced as well.
That includes the combustion chamber seal, and the injector seat is cleaned to ensure it seals correctly.
